Android users are spending an increasing amount of time engaged in their apps and on the mobile web every day.
According to the latest data from Nielsen - Smartphone Analytics, the average U.S.- based Android consumer spends 56 minutes per day “actively interacting with the web and apps on their phone.”
But of that period of time, two-thirds is spent on mobile apps. Just one-third is spent surfing the mobile web.
Nielsen admits, “despite the hundreds of thousands of apps available for Android, a very small proportion of apps make up the vast majority of time spent.”
As of the end of June 2011, Android represented 40.1% of the U.S. smartphone market.
